努力・意志の有無に関わらず、手に入れる。（最も一般的な語）
 
obtain
（ほしい物を）努力して獲得する。
 
acquire
自分の能力・努力・行為によって徐々に手に入れる。
 
gain
（有用・必要な物・ほしい物を）苦労して手に入れる。（格式ばった語）
 
earn
（自分に値するものを）得る。
 
win
競争・抵抗に打ち勝って（望ましい物を）得る。
 
procure
工夫・策略によって獲得する。
 
secure
努力した結果、確保する（格式ばった語）

acquire
to gain or come to possess, esp. by one’s own work, skill, or action, often over a long period of time
 
I managed to acquire two tickets for the concert.

get obtain acquireはいずれも何かを手に入れる動作ですが、語の性格は少しずつ違います。
 
getは最も一般的な口語で、米語ではイディオムに最も多く使われます。その種類は多く、積極的・攻撃的に何かを獲得することから、全くの受け身まで表します。
 
He got a severe headache.
（彼はひどい頭痛におそわれた）
 
The FBI usually get their man.
（FBIは目をつけた人間は必ず捕らえる）
 
They’ll get me sooner or later, I’m sure of it.
（いつか俺は必ずヤツらに殺られる）
 
これらのgetはobtainやacquireとは同列にはできないinformalな用法です。
 

 
getとobtainの違いは、
 
getは苦痛なしに何かを手に入れること
obtainはあらゆる努力の末にやっと手に入れること
 
です。
 
A woman has to go through the pains of childbirth first to have a child whereas a man just gets one.
（女を子供のために産みの苦しみを経験するが、男は何の苦労もなく子供を手にする）
 
It was not easy to obtain information about it.
（その件についての情報を得るのは容易ではなかった）
 
acquireは意図的に何かを取得する点ではobtainと同様ですが、acquireは得たもの自体に興味の焦点があり、価値あるものの評価の意識が含まれています。有形・無形を問いません。
 
Where did you acquire your Picasso？
（そのピカソ、どこで手に入れたの？）
 
I acquired a speaking knowledge of French while I was in Paris for a few years.
（2～3年のフランス滞在の間にフランス語会話を習得しました）
 
This rug, I think, is an acquisition.
