assistの代わりにhelpが使えても、assistがhelpの代用になるケースはごく限られています。
 
つまりhelpはassistよりもずっと大きな言葉であり、文字通り「その助けがないとやっていけない」ほどさし迫った助けを指します。
 
生きるか死ぬかの窮地に陥った人が発する言葉はHelp！であり、helpはassistと違って自分一人でできることには使いません。
