姿勢
posture
特に人が立ったり歩いたり座ったりするときにとる姿勢。
stance
野球やゴルフでボールを打とうとする際の姿勢。
position
体全体のとる姿勢。
attitude
体の姿勢（格式ばった語）。
pose
美術的効果のために意識的にとる姿勢。

posture
1 the general way of holding the body, esp. the back, shoulders, and head, when standing, walking, and sitting.
Humans have a naturally erect posture.
2 a perticular bodily position; POSE
I had to bend over in a rahter uncomfortable posture.
3 a way of behaving or thinking on a particular occasion; ATTITUDE
The government’s posture on the new trade agreement seems very unhelpful.
stance
1 a way of standing, esp. when getting ready to hit the ball in various sports
First take up the correct stance.
2 a way of thinking, esp. a publicly-stated position regarding a particular situation; ATTITUDE
英語類義語活用辞典の解説
stanceはpostureよりも具体的な姿勢、特にゴルファーや野球のバッターが球を打つ時の足の状態を指します。
postureはスポーツにはあまり使わず、主として画家や彫刻家がモデルに求めるポーズのことです。
He painted her in 3 different postures, one reclining, one sitting, one standing.
（彼は彼女を、横になった姿、座った姿、立ち姿の3つのポーズで描いた）
postureは体の姿勢ではなく、比喩的に使われることもあります。その場合も日本語で「姿勢」と訳されます。
The government’s posture on this new trade agreement seems very unhelpful.
（この新しい通商協定における政府の姿勢はあまり協力的ではない）
とはいえ、英語のpostureはいつでも「姿勢」の意味で使われるわけではありません。
どんな姿勢をとるかは当事者次第なのでいつでも変更可能であり、客観的事実や状態を表すわけではないのです。
英語のpostureが最も多く使われるのは客観的事実を指す場合であることは意識しておきましょう。

stanceは先述のようにスポーツで多く用いられる一方、postureのように比喩としても使われます。
