phase と aspect はいずれも物事のある一面や側面を意味しますが、違いはあります。
 
phase は科学的、客観的な根拠があるのに対し、aspect は発言者の主観に基づいています。
 
phase の背後には「人間を含めたあらゆることは成長から終末に至る cycle があり、変化していく」という思想があります。
 
この考え方は天文学の月と潮位の変化の観察から来ていて、phase は時間的および視覚的（満ち欠け）どちらにも用いられます。
 
このcycle観は日本語にはありません。
