勝手にさせる
permit
権限をもって積極的にさせておく。（格式ばった語）
allow
「禁止しない」の意味でletとほぼ同じで、相手のすることを認めるという感じも持つ。
let
反対や禁止・邪魔しないで（放置して）させておく。（最も口語的）
leave
干渉しないでさせておく。

英語類義語活用辞典の解説
permit と allow はどちらも「許可を与える」意味を持ちますが、ニュアンスの違いはあります。
permit はオフィシャルな許可という含みがあるのに対し、allowは非公式で個人の裁量による行動というニュアンスがあります。
The professor allowed students to use the stack room of the library after 9p.m. though it was no permitted.
（夜の9時以降に学生が図書館の書庫を使うのは禁じられていたが、教授は許可してしまった）
allowは非公式に許すことだけでなく、こちらの力不足、もしくは怠慢のために良くない事態の発生を防げなかったという意味にも使います。
これはpermitにはない用法です。
We allow an hour for lunch.
（わが社ではお昼の休憩を一時間とっている）
このallowをpermitにすると「要請に応じてイヤイヤ一時間にしている」というニュアンスになります。
She permitted a faint smile on her lips.
（彼女はかすかな笑みをお情け程度に見せた）
名詞にしても違いがあります。
名詞のpermitは”許可証”で、allowの名詞allowanceは”月々の手当”や”小遣い”を指します。お金だけでなく時間でもOKです。
