意図・目的
goal
努力・野心などの到達点（達成したら努力をやめるという含意がある）
aim
明確な努力目標。
objective
達成することのできる具体的な目的。
object
努力・行為・希望などに向けられる目標。
intention
あることをしようとする気持ち。
intent
しようと考えていること（intentionよりも熟慮の意味が強い）。
purpose
明確な決意を伴った目的。
design
心に抱いているもくろみ。
end
原理原則に則った目的（格式ばった語）。

goal
1（in games such as football and hockey）the area, usu. between two goalposts, where the ball, puck, etc., must go for a point to be gained

3 one’s aim or purpose; a position or object one wishes to reach or obtain
The company has achieved all its goals this year.
target
1 a something fired at in shooting practice, esp. a round card or board with cercles on it
The soldiers were doing their target practice.
2 a total or amount/object which one aims to reach; GOAL
I’ve set myself a target of saving ￡5 a week.
3 （of）a person or thing that is made the object of unfavourable remarks, jokes, etc.
This plan will be the target of a great deal of criticism.
aim
v 1 to point or direct（a weapon, shot, etc.）towards some object, esp. with the intention of hitting it
I aimed at the door but hit the window.
2 to direct one’s efforts（towards doing or obtaining something）; intend（to）
The factory must aim at increased production/aim for an increase in production.

objective

英語類義語活用辞典の解説
この4語はいずれも目的意識を持っている点で共通していますが、目的の対象やそれを目指す動機などに違いがあります。
なので文脈によっては入れ替えできないケースもあります。
goal も target も、個人的に追及するものを対象とします。
goal は通常、達成までの道のりは長く、全身全霊を傾ける必要のあるものです。個人の主観的価値によるので、多くの場合希望・願望の形をとり、細かい具体性があるのはまれです。
The goal of her ambition was to achieve a good marriage.
（彼女のゴールはよい結婚をすることだった）
Our goal is to maintain the firm’s global position and prospeity.
（我々の目的はわが社の国際的地位と繁栄を維持することだ）
target は具体的に勝ち取りたいものを対象にします。
Our sales target this year is the entire upscale are of New York.
（今年のセールスのターゲットはニューヨークの高級住宅地全域だ）
目的がオフィシャルな政策の場合は target が複数形になります。
The government’s lower rice production targets have met general approval.
（政府の米減産政策は概ね好評だ）
aim は方向感覚に重点があります。
Her aim was to study in an American college, her whole efforts were directed towards it from the first day in highschool.
（彼女の目的はアメリカへの大学留学だった。高校生活の初日から彼女はこの目的に向けて全力を傾けた）
objective は上の三つに比べて少しリラックスした、どちらかといえば暢気な目的意識です。
My objective thise summer is to learn Spanish.
（私のこの夏にスペイン語を勉強するつもりです）
この objective は ambition に交換可能です。
